Appel Farm Arts Camp’s mission is to provide a noncompetitive, creative environment where campers are inspired to follow their artistic interests. Joy Waters joined a mature staff of 85 professional artists and arts educators from around the world who provide a supportive and nurturing environment for kids to blossom and grow in the arts. As part of the Leadership Team, Joy is responsible for all aspects of the Video Media Arts Program, where she will: manage, train, and coach the staff of Video Instructors, oversee curriculum planning, guide students through the video production process and ensure that quality video projects are completed in time for public screening during Performance Weeks. Joy is having a fantastic summer being surrounded by people who love the arts.

As part of the Extravaganza Welcome for the campers at the start of the summer, every department was asked to create a piece that introduced the staff from their department. This summer’s theme is “Escape to a Galaxy… far, far away!” and so my staff and I created a sci-fi themed video based on the movie, Men In Black. Enjoy a whimsical look at the members of my Video Media Arts team:
